Yep, That's A Uterus

Ok, so it's been a crazy last 48 hours with Kimberly having a c-section and all. But I think the craziest moment was just after the doctor pulled Anna out of Kimberly. She looked over the curtain and said, "Mr. Brown, would you like to see the uterus?" How could I pass up an opportunity like that! I stood up just in time to see her pulling it up outside of Kimberly's body and holding it like a piece of pot roast. She was so excited to show us all because it was shaped like a heart which was why Anna had to come out the surgical way. Very cool experience.

All is well with Anna, and Kimberly is recovering nicely when she has enough drugs in her. We hope to be home by Sunday to introduce Anna to Noah and my parents.

I know I'd get angry comments if I didn't post pictures, so here you go.

Da Crib, The Crib

Hey everyone, check out da new crib.

Ok, now check out the new crib.

Notice that paint job in the background, it only took four coats to get that just right.

Bonus pic: Noah helped me out with Anna's changing table assembly by crawling inside and adding a little slobber to the railing.

Any guys out there with daddy in the delivery room advice, now would be a good time for a last minute tip.

Keep an eye out for baby updates, it should be any day now.

Sad & Nervous

No, not me. That would be Sam & Charlie, probably after blowing themselves up with an M-80.

Bonus: Check out the giant grotesque country ham right next to the front doors. yum.

Why Blog?

I've been asked lately why people blog. I guess some people like to write, want to be heard, need an outlet, or want to network and keep in touch with friends. For me it all started with my first glimpse and subsequent desire to share this with the world:

You're welcome.

Start with Goodbye

While browsing for blog title ideas I found that a whole lot of people start blogs with the beginning of something new. I've got plenty of new things just around the corner, but there are several goodbyes that I thought should happen first.

1. Jasmine, Charlie, & Jake - my furry friends have all found another home over the last year and I sure do miss them.

2. The Devil Mower - Well, that was what Kimberly called it anyway. I just know it was the best mower I have ever owned (and I've been mowing yards since the 3rd grade). I decided that having a mower like this in my new neighborhood would just make the other men living around me too envious. I also found another need for it greater than my desire to mow a front yard in under 2 minutes.

3. Our House - Almost three years ago while visiting my in-laws we drove by this house and I said out loud "I sure would like to have a house like that some day". After some debate and a promise from my wife that her salary from teaching would help pay for it, we signed on the dotted line. Two+ years later & 1600 sq ft more finished out than I found it, it's time to hand the keys to someone else.

For everything else I know we'll be back in town often enough to appreciate it still. For all of our friends here we'll miss seeing you each week, but Kimberly is already counting on the Christmas party, consignment sale, baby showers, delivering Anna here, etc. so you probably won't even realize we don't live here anymore.
